United States | Aged | 40% ABV
Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.
This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

Bastante bien para ser un bacardi... aunque esperaba algo mas de un 8 años
Among rum lovers it is quite fashionable to hate Bacardi, however this is a surprisingly good rum. Have only tried it as a sipper, which already shows it is a quality product. Nice smooth caramel flavour with no heavy alcohol burn. I rate my rums pure on quality so gave it a 7, however if rating price/quality this scores an 8-9.
Sugar: 12 gpl. A good value rum. This is not a complicated rum with lots of different aromas and tastes. Smooth with tastes of oak, caramel, and vanilla and a moderate amount of warmth on the palate. It's a sipper if you like the taste, but I would use this only as a mixing rum.
While not extraordinary, at $20 a bottle it's a great value and better than all but a handful of rums. It's not overpowering. Carmel followed by oak are the strongest characteristics. You'll pick up a hint of vanilla and some berries too. It is not overly sweet. A good beginners choice too. If the haters ever tried this in a blind taste test it would silence them forever. This is my go to rum.
Har fået købt en del ind, som jeg nu er gået i gang med at smage på.
Efterhånden som jeg får dem smagt, kommer min egen personlige mening og holding til rommen.
Smooth, just the right amount of oak or residue of the barrel. Dryer than the Gold, I enjoy sipping it neat.
Bacardi 8 is somewhat cheap (33.19€ comparing to other, finer products) rum for the things it offers. It comes in a very nice bottle with a cork on the top that has a Bacardi logo. I find that pleasing to the eye. When it comes to the taste, I absolutely adore it. Light at the beginning, and somewhat harsh at the end while releasing all the flavours that last for some time in the throat. I noticed that Bacardi 8 has that whiskey after taste which is, in my opinion, always a plus to have. I would definitely recommend to open this bottle in a small circle of friends at a private gathering.
TLDR: A great rum from Bacardi. Very enjoyable for that price.
found this very good, even better when you take the price into consideration. Really good entry level sipper.

Smells sweet but also oaky.
"It is a well balanced rum. When sipped, or mixed with a little ice or water the Bacardi 8 is very decent. It’s very smooth and easy to sip."

Tosto.
Duro.
Un rum forte. Secco.
