Don Papa Masskara

First of, the visual. Cool bottle as always with Don Papa. It looks like an old rum. The colour of the rum is very bright and yellow. There is also tiny, but very visible flakes in it. Its kind of turbid. I assume it comes from the citrus spicening. Not the best looking rum in a glas.

The nose is kind of funky with a very heavy citrus. Very heavy citrus. Does not smell great or like your traditional aged rum. More like old medicine.

The taste however, is a VERY pleasant surprise after the nose. The taste is smooth, sweet and have alot of citrus zest to it. Not a very strong burn on the alcohol or funky, like it smells. Its was very surprising and once it had spent a some time in the glas the nose got better. It leaves a pretty nice and fresh taste and dont really deliver any after burn. Its actually very good.

Not for everyone, not an traditional aged rum. But its a very nice mix up from the regulars and very tasty.

The rum is nice and has a nice flavor similar to the other Don Papa Rums - Barrokko and Small batch. This one is much sweeter than the former though, which I like less.

Its a decent rum, its very frutii whit alot of orange.

Smell similar like "classic", but without so much sweetness. Taste is really good, lot of fruit, nice flower, little bit less honey like in classic. End is smooth and fine. Good drink 7/10

I give this one a 7/10 because it uses an unusual recipe - it is infused with honey and chilli. Because of this, it is one of the Don Papa rums that I am actually fond of. The chilli gives it a nice little burn, which surprised me. I really did not expect it to be noticeable. I also feel like the honey gave it a more interesting profile than other rums that are infused with simple sugar. Like other Don Papa rums, it is a little bit artificial and perhaps too sweet but an interesting one nonetheless.

This one is not for me! It has a special aftertaste that I do not like!
