Tastes like raisins, or rum raisins. I'm not really getting any other flavors from this, but I found it enjoyable. Not sweet at all. Pretty smooth. No cask aromas at all, which is a bit surprising for an aged-and-filtered rum.
Not quite sure whether that's something I actually need; for the cocktails I drink, El Dorado 3 works better. I bet it makes a great mojito, though.
I am not a huge fan of white rum. I prefer sippers, not mixers. In a mix the craftsmanship and curation is almost always lost. However, I AM a fan of this distillery. This is one of the 2 best white runs I have ever tried. It is NOT sweet and most surprisingly, not harsh either. It has bite. It has balance. The higher ABV really adds to the overall character. It is not complex but has some subtle oak notes. Definitely earned a place in my cabinet. Another great rum from this superior St Lucia distillery.
N- Clean with dusty wood, young fruit with no excessive sugar, which is a good thing. Neutral, soft bouquet of floral and leafy with bubble gummy notes developed. (87/21)
P- Full, bright, phenolic and naturally sweet, rubber pad, coconut and fiery at a good way. Nice mouth coating and menthol-y with toasted almond. A nice white rum to date. (89/22)
F- Medium-long, spirit and oak mingled. Fresh and broad with dry edge. Dress with some vanilla and sweet fruit. (87/21)
B/B- 88/22. This were bottled at 43%, with a mere 3% more than most other brands make a huge different.
Weighted Rate- 86pt

The nose is all rounded of nicely by some spicy notes of ginger and a slight hint of fruity berries.
"Flavours keep coming with each sip. You get more sweet notes of sultana and raisin on the entry and mid palate. The finish is long and this is very much a rum to be taken slowly. ."

Take this review with a grain of salt the size of Gibraltar... this is my favorite rum for daiquiris. Clear, clean, crisp and bright. Just what I want in an ice cold daiquiri. Crushable. Good APV without any funk or harshness.
Here is my conundrum, I know the bottle I had was Chairman's Reserve.... but the age 2-3 is in question. So your rum mileage may vary.
