Treaty Oak Barrel Reserve

Wood and vanilla on the nose, peppery burn on the taste with a lingering burn that is not enjoyable. I like overproofs but this is a wobbly unfocused finish

So, so good! Nice bourbon essence without losing the rum character.

This was a special bottle single barrel from my friend Jim at the Mansion single barrel released for them only at 63.45%. One of the best American made rums to date from the great state of Texas. Aged 100% in new oak barrels my bourbon loving friends liked it, versus most Caribbean bourbon barrel aged rums. Nice color and aroma a bit of an alcohol nose but very solid spirit.

Not my preference but very solid will like trying it as an old fashioned.
