This is by far the best spiced rum in it's price range (under £20) I drink this straight and can't get enough. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
I bought a bottle of RedLeg Spiced Rum during my last trip to London. It was my first taste of the drink. My first impression was of the fantastic packaging - an appealing logo and hand-drawn design, and a nicely shaped bottle. On opening the bottle I was struck by the wealth of aromas - strong but not overwhelming. The ginger really comes through, which is great because I love ginger. I enjoyed RedLeg both straight and with mixers. No doubt it is my favourite rum now.
It's ok, if you're happy to experiment and try different rums then this one is worth a go. After a bottle I see no need to revisit as there are so many more to try.
Nice in cocktails or with ginger and lime, but has a dry, cheap flavour that isn't really that impressive. Sweet, heavy on ginger and a whiff of vanilla essence. It is understandable how the mainstream market could like it as overall it isn't that 'bad', it just isn't that impressive when compared to existing spiced rums.
Edit
Was given a bottle recently as a gift, its enjoyable, but nothing special still.
Confused by the people that say it's strong on vanilla, and I'm a 'super taster'.
Thoughts: Not being fans of ginger, we were concerned but the sweetness of the vanilla is the dominant flavour with the ginger being brought up in the background. More present on the finish than at the start, the ginger just brings a warming spiciness to it. £23 a bottle means this a nice change of flavour, one you can risk, you could mix without being too expensive. Definitely buy another bottle when finished!

Smell - Really light sweet vanilla and ginger
Taste - Mild alcohol burn, sweet strong vanilla, slight spice
After Taste - Medium length; slight spice taste develops into the ginger flavour, not overpowering
A step up from other spiced rums in the same price bracket (Sailor Jerry / Old J / Deadman's Fingers etc.). Unlike its competition, I can sip it neat (although I still much prefer it with coke).
The ginger is very prominent, which could be slightly divisive, but ginger is one of my favourite flavours (in general, rather than in rum). This combined with the absence of cinnamon results in a spiced rum that is smoother and less cloying than others at this price-point. I was starting to lose interest in spiced rum altogether, but I now find myself reaching for Red Leg regularly. Value for money at £22 and a real bargain when it's on offer for only £17.
Sok jót olvastam itt róla! De sajnos nekem annyira nem nyerte el a tetszésemet.Túl szintetikus benne a vanília végén épphogy csak érezni a gyömbért.
Keep returning to this one. Have tried so many other spiced rums, but this one draws me back every time I stray. Delicious.
Good for the price, very easy drinking even sipping on it's own.
Pretty sweet smelling stuff.
"It’s not cloying and you can definitely pick out the Vanilla and Ginger with little difficulty."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Strong vanilla aroma and taste which kills other spices, the rum base is smooth, but also quite flat. I am not a big fan of spiced rums, for me this is not bad, but not unforgettable either.
