Virgin Islands, British | Aged | 40% ABV
The Great British Admiralty first served rum daily to its Royal Navy sailors over 300 years ago until the ration was abolished in 1970. In 1979 Charles Tobias bought the recipe rights, formed Pusser’s Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands, and for the first time made the rum it available for public consumption.
Pusser’s British Navy rum today is the same blend of five West Indian rums as the British Admiralty issued to sailors.
Known as the “single malt of rum” Pusser’s British Navy rum is pot stilled using a similar method as that for single malt scotches, and with no artificial flavors is 100% natural.

Nice thick sweet molasses flavours but smooth from start to finish
Supposedly the original Pain Killer recipe used this. I'll pass.
Cork fell apart when I tried to open it. Not a good start. Lots of after taste. Would do in a pinch.
This rum has a few flaws. First, unlike real navy rum, it has no Jamaican (or Bajan) rum in it. Second, it's 40%. I really won't drink this anymore, and if I want Pusser's, I grab the bottle of Gunpowder proof. Same rum, less water, more flavor. More bang for your buck than this.
I just love the... well lets call it a smell... of these navy rums. Something like the old sailor´s stinky socks being put in the rum cask. This rum is different and its pure... and if you keep it standing for a while yo discover some more tones, like figues.
Give it a try... and if you want a smoother one, go for the 15-year Nelson´s blood bottle.
Det her er en spitze rom - især til den pris! En af de første jeg smagte og et sikkert genkøb når flasken er tom
Standard rum in any liquor cabinet....great for mixing with pineapple juice.
Wonderful value for the price. This rum has enough complexity and smoothness to sip neat, perhaps with splash of water; yet, stands up well with some old-fashioned spiced cola (Pepsi 1893) as well. Taken neat, there's a big, strong burnt caramel, butter and a spicy finish. There's some prune, raisin, molasses and diesel fuel buried in the flavor profile. Endlessly interesting.
A good rum but shows no qualities/refinements from their aging process/years of fame and fortune.
Great in their Painkiller
I would appreciate it as a gift but would get my rum rations elsewhere.
Original tot served to sailors

It has just the right balance of sweet.
"The rum is rich, warming, sweet, slightly oaked with hints of black pepper and allspice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Sweet and fruity. Dates and prunes and spicy vanilla. Treacle on the finish. Very enjoyable but not as good as nelsons blood.
