Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

This one is the one i recommend to people as an everyday rum. Great smell, free from alcohol, the taste is dark, the finish is a bit too much alcohol in but it fades quickly and leaves you with all those tones that mellows out in your mouth.
Clear dark bronze color with creamy legs. Astringent nose with a slight molasses, oaky, vanilla scent and a hint of tobacco. A little sharp on the pallet but a warm smooth burn. One of my early favorite rums. An excellent sipper for the price.
I liked this rum - it's good neat and in cocktails; it's somewhat similar to diplomatico (the location of production has an effect); it's very inexpensive for its quality; interesting design with a bag;
I’m used to better quality rums. I had to order one cause I wanted to finish a dinner with a rum and the only 2 options were this one and a glass of Zacapa XO (20 ml sold at 26€).
It’s a mid/low level rum and it doesn’t even try to trick you into thinking it’s a better product.
Smell is decent but in the mouth you can feel it’s a massive production spirit and it’s everything but long.
My rating is for sipping it and I do not consider price in my rating. That said this rum is much more interesting to me when used in cuba libre. It is fantastic and I would rate it a 9 maybe a 10.
This one reminded me the El Dorado 12, but much weaker. There is some vanilla and toffee smell. It is somehow boring on the palate. Just round flavours, nothing really stands out. The right amount of sweetness. I would rate this around 6.5.
Quite light and buttery.
"It’s a pleasant nose which suggests good ageing and there is a light oak to the nose which is well balanced."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is a very well blended smooth rum, with a full very clasic rummy body. Letting it breath a bit in the glass removes the very faint alcohol taste that's there from the beginning. Great aftertaste, not much wood.
Bottle design and the leather pouch is a very good thing for those of you (like me!) who enjoy such things.
