Amazing. Extremely complex, deep, all the hampden flavors. Fruit, rubber, funk, burn, wood, all in perfect harmony. Phenomenal
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I just got a little Christmas bonus, so I decided to buy an expensive rum. I've never tried a Samaroli rum before, so I picked up the most expensive one I could find - which is the 1992 Jamaica for just over $500. Only 60 bottles of this 750ml size ever produced, which might explain the price (plus 240 bottles in 700ml size).
I knew this is a dry rum, which generally isn't my favorite, but I really wanted to give the Samaroli a try. Smells and tastes of lacquer, marzipan, spice, honey, and sea salt. I think the 24 years of aging really come through well on this.
It's a good rum for sure, but it's just not my style. A bit too dry, and a bit too plain. I can see rum purists rating this rum a lot higher.
