Neisson Blanc 55

Bought this Rhum Neisson Blanc 55 some months ago on my way home from Spain.
The distillery has been operational since 1931 and they produce their AOC rhums from sugar cane from their own fields.
The harvest takes place between late February and June and it’s during this period the Blanc 55 is produced from 5 different sugar canes, which probably gives it some complexity.
Before bottled it has rested in stainless steel vats for 6 months.
In the glass it’s crystal clear.
The nose is punchy, sweet, grassy, spicy and with aromas of different citrus fruits.
In mouth and palate the aromas comes back with some honey and anis.
During the quiet long finish the spiciness and fruitiness dominates.
Overall a great premium Agricole Blanc that works well neat as well in an Ti Punch.

The aroma is amazing and has lots of fruit in it. The flavor is not as pleasant but still good for an Agricole.

This rum is a blend, which have been matured for 6 months in stainless steel vats. During this period, aeration and reduction of the alcohol content are ensured by stirring.
The nose of this rum, very intense, is marked by floral notes - cane sugar, vesou - which is pleasantly complemented by a slight hint of citrus.

On the palate, the attack of this rum is marked by great sweetness. Full and supple body with sweet notes of cane, honey and coconut.
The finish is smooth and rich in flavor. An excellent agricol rum from Martinique.

Pur, il est équilibré, sans aspérités... Ce qui pour un rhum agricole est un peu dommage, et me fait parfois penser que Neisson manque de charisme comparé à JM ou Trois Rivières. Mais il est plus fin que la majorité des agricoles blancs, avec quelque chose de "soyeux". Suffira pour des ti punch de compète (au lieu de saloper ce splendide Le Rhum).

Encore une fois Neisson montre le savoir faire de la Martinique

Nose: Interesting, strong yogurt smell, grass, lemongrass, citrus, bit white pepper.
Taste: Palate is bit heavier on grass and citrus with some sweetness, the yogurt is still there, white pepper, some herbs on the back palate with some bitterness. Not overly hot for 55%abv. Fairly complex, delightful nose, definately recommended in the aoc martinique blanc category.

Steinobst in der Nase.
Erdig, alkoholisch.

Pur für mich nicht gut zu trinken und auch nicht interessant genug, was vielleicht auch am ungewohnt hohen Alkoholgehalt liegt.
Jedoch hervorragende Basis für Kirschlikör und Marillenlikör.

Reputée pour la forme de sa bouteille, le rhum blanc Neisson est très bon,. Sa version bio à 66° et celle à 70° sont absolument à gouter

Total decent stuff. A little heavier on the distillate-side of things, with less flavor than comparable agricoles at this 55º mark, but the grassy taste is remarkably good and consistent with its terroir. An excellent ti punch maker and recipe agricole.
