Bellevue Distillery 1998
Duncan Taylor
Column Still
Distilled: 03.1998
Bottled: 02.2016
Aged 17 Years
52.2%
Cask No. 94
One of 202 Bottles
Country of origin: Guadeloupe
Color: Dark Amber
Nose:
Very sweet like MAOAM chewing sweets with dark berry aroma (blackberries, cassis) and fudge.
Dark berry jam, bananas and fruit salad ... a real fruit explosion and a superb nose.
Taste:
Slightly sweet and spirituous with notes of green bark, little smoke and spices (pepper, cloves).
Simple, not very intensive ... does not keep the promises of the nose.
Finish:
Medium long and dry with notes of black tea and cardamon in the aftertaste.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I tried a dram of this and WOW! The first thing that came to mind was " Where's that cigar I saved for a special occasion". This was indeed a special occasion. I found this rum to be simply outstanding especially for the price. It goes way past notes of this, that or the other thing. It's superbly phenomenal!
