Matusalem Gran Reserva 15-year rum is produced using a combination of rums aged on average 15 years and distilled from molasses using the solera process.
The Matusalem company was established in 1872 originally in Santiago de Cuba. The company fled the country following the Cuban Revolution in 1959 and the Gran Reserva rum is now produced in the Dominican Republic.

Thin body and the aftertaste reminds me the cheap brandy that I used to drink in my village's coffe shop. There are some cheaper better rums out there.

Not as sweet as I was told. I feel it quite bitter with a full taste.

Добротный качественный старый ром! Немного суховат. Хорошо чувствуется бочка.
It has a pure, deep golden color with shiny red and amber reflections. The seductive aroma of vanilla, dark brown sugar, caramel, plum and apricots. Delicate and velvety taste with an amazing array of flavors around the core of vanilla and caramel. Nothing outstanding, but the price-quality ratio.
Not my type of rum. To much alcohol coming through. Works well for drinks.

Rum,ktorý pri vstupe do sveta rumov treba ochutnať. Pomerne cenovo dostupný (23EUR) kubánsky rum, navyše 15 ročná rezerva. Vôňa nijak zvlášť neoslni,no chuť je prijateľná,v závere mierna nasladlost. Povedal by som lepší priemer so známkou okolo 5,6-5,7. Určite nie je tak dobrý ako El Dorado 12YO,ktorý má zrovnatelnu cenu.
