I have a collection of spiced rums, from Koloa to Kilo Kai to Bumbu. This one is worthy of my spiced rum shelf. Try their cocktail recipes on their website or just *sip it*.
Very distinct flavour that is subtle yet very full bodied. Very enjoyable on a hot day, in my case at the marina.
Nez : Arômes de mélasse, de vanille, d’épices et de fruits secs.
Bouche : Équilibré avec un côté poivré, gingembre, muscade, vanille combiné à la mélasse.
Finale : La persistance est moyenne.
A lot of different flavours going on that mix really well with one another. I enjoy it on it’s own, in mixed drinks, and even in specific cocktails.
This is my go-to weeknight rum, or 2nd drink rum. It is really smooth and complex but doesn’t break the bank.
I frequently find myself comparing some of the more expensive runs to this and in my opinion, many come up short.
I love turning friends into this little hidden gem. Everyone I’ve shared it with so far has loved it.
Incredible smell of toffee and superior to The Kraken in my opnion.
Lemon Hart automatically gets a 10 for every one of their rums, they are all different and have different uses. This is no exception, it is amazing on the rocks, or try it in a rum punch with lime , a bit of honey syrup and Elemakule Tiki bitters, or in a Cuba Libre. Demerara rums are the best in my opinion and this is another great one.
Excellent rum, overall very tasty, good neat or as a mixer if you are looking for a high end cocktail. Very complex, crisp and tastes like rum. No hiding what it is, lots of potent ABV that is there but not overpowering. Nice mouth and finish with a prolonged amount of time to enjoy it after you send it to mingle with the other contents in your gut.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

($38 CAD) Wanted to grab a spiced rum for sipping to change things up a bit. Honestly, Blackpool was pleasantly surprising. I thought it would burn pretty good but it is relatively smooth with a bit of heat (not bad for 43%). Not sure if I’m just really easy when it comes to Rum but I really enjoy this one straight up.
Smells like loads of warm vanilla and spices. Maybe a little bit of wood as well.
Taste is similar: vanilla, spices, carmel. Raisins, and dried fruit before it settles into the heat.
It’s a nice change up from my other rums so far and definitely gets points for that. Granted, I don’t have any other spiced rums to compare to. Either way, I am digging this one pretty good. For this price, the value is there.
