An excellent choice for lovers of cognac taste. Rich and soft.
Have had some of the rums before, mostly mass-production Havana Club, yet these were to pass by, not to remember for long, not opening any spaces. Strange things they were, so what.
This one is perfect introduction to the particular interpretation of a rum, as an idea. The taste of one at hand is named 'Haut Gout' - I will translate it as a Rich Taste. Which it is. It is heavy, dark load of a taste, and it is left to you to cope and sort and whatever. The guy, who is behind this project, is one to respect. He balances on the edge of making popular product, yet tends to keep things right. We celebrate your efforts, Monsieur.
This is a nice dark rum although there is room for improvement.
A step up from generic rum as a mixer, but not too interesting. A good value for mixing, recommend this over a lot of generic rum choices for sure.
Nose: Bit rough, some toffee and fruit notes. Definitely young.
Taste: A little sharp but full of flavor. You're not gonna get anything too complex, but it serves its purpose just fine.
Would rate this about 6.5, if this were better neat maybe it could be a 7 but this isn't comparable to stuff like El Dorado 8, Flor de Cana 8, etc.
First sip is a bit strong. But it soon starts to develop a beautiful flavour. Very aromatic but not too sweet. Regardless of the price it is a good rum. Concerning the price it's awesome.
Update: one day I love it, next I hate it. Dunno. Great for baking aroma!
I like the slight sweetness of this rum. I like it much more than Sailor Jerry, which costs approximately the same.
Enjoyable dark rum that has hints of cinnamon and molasses.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Rich in flavour and rich in alc. Good for sipping and drinks.
