Really great rum, however (and I might be showing ignorance here, don't correct me, just pity me) I'm not sure it's worth such a massive price tag, when I have had rums I have liked just as much for less than half the price
It's a very good rum and it I were a huge fan of Appleton it would be a 10 but there are better runs for the price.
Rich honey colour
Smells quite similar to the 21, but less okay and with a bit more caramel.
On the palate: toasted caramel come to the front, with hints of cinnamon, then back to the warm caramel. Stewed apricot adds a lightness and slight fruitiness. Finally, some subtle Jamaican funk in the last thing on the palate. Overall, most unlike any Appleton rum I've had. Closer in dryness and body to a Bajan rum, but the rich brown sugar and caramel notes take it to another level, while the slight fruitiness cuts through.
Lots of distinct flavors packing a huge punch.drink up my friends
This rum is incredible delicious! Appleton 12 year , signature, and rare casks taste nothing like this rum. I dumped out the rare cask it was so disagreeable with me. I still want to try the 21 year.
Very expensive rum to only share with the best of company.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

After finding out from the βLCβ that they would not be carrying this product (Brutal!!!); I was able to nab three of these bad boys in South Carolina.
I am glad to report that if your a fan of the Appleton line; you will not be disappointed.
For a rum that has been aged between 25 to 35 years; they have managed to keep the oak under control. All the signature Appleton taste and smell is there as well.
For me this is almost a 10 but I think I will give it a 9 1/2. I just wish there was something else on the finish other then oak.
My wife and I opened this on our 9th wedding anniversary, so from this point forward; this will only be sampled on future anniversaries.
