This rum do not have the "AOC Rhum Agricole de la Reunion" but is surely made like a Rhum Agricole.
On the smell, you first get some cooked fruits, almost like caramel, and then some floral smell from the sugar cane, an almost 10 out of 10 there.
Then the tasting was a little bit disappointed, but not surprising for a 5 years. The caramelized fruits are gone, with sill a nice floral taste though, but the alcohol is a bit overpowering the whole.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A bottle of 5-Ans for the second half of La Reunion.
Light amber in a glass.
In the nose very fresh and fruity, tropical dried fruits in vanilla sauce with caramel syrup and freshly sawn wood.
Light on the palate, yet full-bodied. A dessert that is not sweet, banana split served on wood with lots of caramel and citrus fruits.
In the finish wood and fruits and ... past. Should be longer. (as always)
A quite well made Agricole which tastes super on the spot. For Agricole connoisseurs.
