Havana Club Añejo Especial is a blend of rums aged for up to five years produced from the fermented molasses of sugar cane harvested in Cuba. The molasses is combined with yeast and water, distilled using column stills, and aged in white oak barrels.
Havana Club was founded in 1878 by Jose Arechabala and later nationalized after the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

Picked this up as an alternative to Captain Morgan... and must say its an inferior choice for mixing and not at all as complimentary and smooth as the cheap choice for mixing rum as the Captain.
Wanted to like it, because i am a big fan of the better Havana Club rums, but this attempt to make a CM sub have gone wrong.
I'll savour the HC 7yo for my favourite mixer.
In my opinion just as good as the 15 year old Havana Club
This is the standard golden rum for good bars & pubs, often bad mixed by amateur bartenders.
It is a low cost option for shots, highballs and drinks with a lot of ingredients.
Enjoyed my "Cuba Libre"s tonight - very solid as a mixer - but not quiet there on it's own
I have nothing more to add to the title. It's a good rum to have as a basic but nothing special.
Never tried the real stuff but this is good smooth rum.
Your review – you could include things like color, aroma, body, taste, finish, spice, smoothness… really anything you want! You can also share an optional picture of the drink (or better still - you enjoying it!) by attaching a photo below.
Not top shelf, but you have to have a Cuba Libre with Cuban rum. It's a mixing rum
Decente insieme al succo alla pera per serate allegre.
Nulla di più.
I veri rum sono altri...

Some oaky spicy notes.
"It’s very heavy with vanilla and the caramel and brown sugar notes are too much. The rum is quite smooth and not very rough."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Een perfecte, lekkere rum voor de 'instapper'. Smakelijk, zoet met weinig complexe (na)smaken.
