Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

This is a memory rum for me. hard not to say its not amazing. on the rocks or with coke and a lime its great.
I`m over rating it i know.
As i said in title... This is the flagship of a brand, the legacy flavour of an old rum... An special gift from Cuba.
Not as strong on the nose as the Especial and the molasses treacle flavour in this is a bit more mellow. More refined drop than its younger cousin. Noticed that the closure leaks when the bottle was unopened and the cap on my last bottle of Especial as well would not secure after opening..
Nice but has a little too much alcohol bite compared to others within the same price range. I will still definitely be buying a bottle of it soon though to give it another go.
It's a good ron for the beginning. It's morgen abend ron for cuba Libre.
I compare this rum to his big brother of the brand, the selection del maestro.
You can find the same leather and tobacco notes but much more covered by the alcohol. Very Cuban.
Not bad.
I had high hopes, but they were quickly dashed. On the nose, it's nothing but alcohol. Hits the palate and immediately stings, and not in a pleasant way. The worst part was actually swallowing it. Biting. I imagine this is what turpentine tastes like.
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

'caramel, cane sugar, and a bit of cinnamon character in the finish'

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It's for sure not my favorite, I use it to mix with coke for a nice cuba libre or other drinks, but not pure.
