Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Smooth in mouth and throat with medium burn through the finish. Sweetness is acceptable. I'm tasting burnt sugar, chocolate, coffee, and toffee flavors. Medium complexity. I enjoy how the toffee note comes through during the medium long finish. Very nice overall.
A great rum for tiki cocktails. It’s robust flavour shines through the other ingredients
The aftertaste is a bit special, my taste buds prefer to thin the cola
I am aware that I have rated this one far above the average; however, it is one of my favourites. As a cigar smoker, I really like this one as it has a strong earthy, leathery, tobacco profile to it. It isn't too sweet and has a great nose to it, alongside a light amber colour. I prefer this neat with an ice cube or two to dilute the flavour.
Drinkable, too dark for my liking, prefer a sweeter rum.
My favorite rum that I judge all others against. Very much a molasses finish with great smoky flavors up front.
Note: I'm a sipper. My opinion is based on sipping characteristics.
My first Cuban, one of my early rums and my first disappointment. I bought it up because of its high rating here and immediately regretted that. This can only be had on rocks or in a Cuba Libre or whatever rum cocktail it is you prefer. Having it neat is a high octane torture.
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."

Now this is a favorite that I keep coming back to. A very well-balanced rum suitable for all occasions.
