Got this 5cl sample from the Rum Ratings Tasting Club.
Clément VO 3yo is a blend of rums aged in new oak barrels and former bourbon barrels.
The aroma is fresh, fruity, vegetal and dry.
On the palate it’s grassy, spicy, woody with some nutty notes and it’s also possible to detect tropical dried fruits as mango, apricot and papaya.
The finish is medium long with tastes of cane and lime besides the tastes from the palate.
Overall a typical young AOC rum.
Picture: My emptied sample and my poured glass.
My very first bottle, for sipping neat there are plenty of other choices.
It's quite dry. Ethanol is noticeable. Somewhat anarchic.
But in "Ti punch" (with sugar and lime), it takes his full dimension.
For 23 Euros, don't expect to fly over the rainbows with every sip. But this is a good 3 years old Agricole Rhum, quiet strong and harsh for those used to drink spanish style rum, but if you are an amateur of good Ti'vieux this rum perfectly do the job. It will fit for people who likes Agricole style. Of course you will find smoother rum from Clement. But, If you plan to invite friends and you don't want to use ur good and expensive bottles from your cabinet, but still you want to impress them with some original cocktails or Ti'punch, instead of using Bacardi, Captain Morgan, or Havana Club 3 years, you could be more original with a bottle of Clement V.O 3 years Cask.
It's not a sweet rum, not a problem for me, i prefer, but not a good taste, even for mixing i don't know something disturb me on this one. There is mush better for this price.
The kind of bottle I keep for my daily ! Very good balance and perfect to close a meal! Could potentially miss a bit of complexity and length but you need to move to the premium range of this brand to get this !!
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
