Abuelo XV Tawny Port Cask Finish

This one was the bong. Great taste.. Almost free from ethanol.. With a longlasting finish.. This is a must buy.

8:On the nose, aromas of vanilla, nuts (almond) and cherry are delicious. Classic caramel and tobacco are also present.
7,8:On the palate, the attack is soft but also intense and one might think that this rum is over 40°. Caramel, tobacco and nuts make up this gourmet profile.
8:The finish is long, with tobacco playing the leading role. Wood and almond try to take the spotlight, but are ultimately defeated.

In this price range one of the best: deep and complex flavours in a well composed manner.

This rum I was looking forward too. I like port as well but when I took a sip of this I was shocked. A strong alcoholic taste that burns and burns in the way down.

Out of the 15 year old editions I tasted I would not recommend this one, which is a damn shame.

Neat - strong as a real rum. All Abuelos are quite good. This is the best. 9+. In cocktails awesome

now this is a flight! discovered the 12 year year Abuelo recently and wanted to do a deeper dive it was so good. All 3 of these cask finishes were amazing but this port finish stood just a bit taller than the rest. what separated these apart was the smell and taste. smelled like chocolate. these 3 tastings will put me over 100 and I have never been so happy with 3 rums. Search this out! you wont be disappointed.

I really wasn’t expecting much with this but was really surprised how much I enjoyed it the port wasn’t overpowering and with each sip it became more complex.
