Pro mne je lepsi volbou JOY, vadila mi tu takova drevita chut. 8/10
Lots of good spices and slight hogo with a definite aged profile. Simply a great rum.
Colour and aroma are 10 easily with complex aromas of carmel, vanilla, touch of all spice and strong citrus, but the taste doesn't quite deliver what the nose was sold. A smooth wood flavour dominates the fore and after taste with just a hint of that caramel and vanilla hidden deep in the middle somewhere. For the age and money I had better expectations, by as a rum it is very easily and pleasurably consumed.
Great with notes of chocolate, caramel, cherry, cola, banana, guava, coconut, and pineapple.
Viel Fasseinfluss, trockene Eichennoten sind sehr präsent. Die feine vanille-süsse ist dezent eingebunden. Etwas würzig und wenig fruchtig.
Sehr fein, mit langem Abgang.
I tried that during visit in Jamaica. I visited Appletone destillery...Great tour...private guide. At the end you can try collection of their rums. All common till 12 YO. But guide was great guy and saw that I know more about rums that simple tourist. Propose me to try 21 and 30 YO! Hell yeah! Normally that's definietly not my budget...very expensive! Very oak casks for sure. Great ballanced
When I tried this rum I was expecting a similar rum to the 21 year old but found it to be quite different. I will edit this again once I can taste it again.
Upon further review I changed my score to a 9. Much better than I remembered.
I was blessed to sip away with a friend while in Italy. This is a nice bottle. Expensive. Serious Rum. For a collector or someone who is picky.... like me! Oak casks for sure. Medium finish and i honestly just thought it was a slight miss. But, one of the best rum's in the world!

What a great find in a little liquor store in Poughkeepsie NY. After fully enjoying both 21 and Joy 25 in the past I thought how much better could this be, and it blows me away. First scent you know this is something special, no water drops or ice necessary bottled at a comfortable 45%. Lots of lingering depth very well aged with nice wood tones that stay with you for 10 minutes or more. Very hard to put down so I better put it on the top shelf next to Joy.
