Distilled using small-batch copper pot stills uniquely designed for Appleton Estate, this rum is a blend of several rums aged 21 years in American oak barrels. Once blended, the rum is re-casked for two years to marry the flavors.
Appleton Estate 21-year rum is produced in Jamaica on one of the country’s oldest and most renowned sugar estates. Each bottle is individually numbered and comes with a signed aging certificate by master blender Joy Spence.

Some people probably enjoy the sting accompanied with fine spirits. While I'm not opposed to it, there's a level which I can tolerate before it gets overwhelming. This rum stands directly on that line. I loved the aromas, the look, the mouthfeel, and especially the aftertaste... But the aggressive nature of the bite (especially on the front of the tongue) was just enough to throw my experience. Still a very quality overall product, but had to knock it down a notch due to that one issue. Salude!
Thick, full, nutty, cocoa, stewed fruits, brownsugar, oak.

sweet but not too much, full-bodied, aromatic,
a particular taste ...
a pleasure to drink
Es el mejor ron que he probado. Es simplemente excepcional, exquisito!...una hora después, el sabor del Appleton 21 sigue en boca!
The mere smell of this is enough to send the typical rum lover into a reverie, and then we get to the taste....oh boy!
On the nose, there are layers of oak, fruit brown sugar. The taste is oaky more than anything else. It's neither a sweet not a dry rum, sitting about bang in the middle of the spectrum. You can find both dryness and sweetness in it. There is also fruit and caramel and brown sugar. The aftertaste lingers and lingers - for hours actually. You end up with a very subtle sweet oak flavour as an echo of a wonderful drink. Compared to something like the 8 year old Appleton's it is a miracle. So much natural smoothness (not added sugar), oak, depth and complexity. Recommended.
The price per bottle is £135 and for a single in the pub £8.50 and a double about £15, so this is for special occasions for most of us.
Expectations where high...
Smelled great but the taste was flat... closer to a sweeter wisky than a rum
Veeeeery smooth, maybe the smoothest alcohol I have ever had
No notes left in mouth
Great stuff! Authentic whisky like rum with no additives and very smooth with notes of dried fruits, raisins, vanilla, toffee, chocolate, cinnamon, and barrel spices.
Pricey but is an enjoyable sipping rum with excellent flavor.
Super n’ose, just a bit flat in the mouth and too short finish to be a 10
First of all, this is a true 21y matures rum, unlike most rum they don’t cheat. And you really can feel it, the roundness and the extremely long finish can only be realised after such long aging, absolutely fantastic.
And the nose too is awesome, really a top notch rum, way underrated here, but anyway I am not worry for Appleton, they are known for making some of the best rum out here, with true oak aging and no adding sugar, just shame to all the ones giving anything lower than 9.
Nice brown sugar and toffee notes with a nice creamy nuttiness underneath.
"Tropical notes of sweet fruits a little orange zest and some nice notes of tropical fruit. It burns slightly on the finish which is very long and satisfying. ."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Great caramel colour. Floral, vanilla, spice and nuts on the nose. Decent oak and molasses with a decent sweet, brown sugar finish.
