El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

I really had big expectations for this. Thats why i probably got dissapionted. Compared to the price it do not taste as i thought. Very strong taste, thats all. I will not recomand this one
I had previously shared a bottle of El Dorado 21 with friends at the cigar lounge and we all felt that was a "10" rated rum. Picked up a bottle of the 15 year and I felt it had a very strong medicine afterburn to it. Didn't taste any of the black cherry I got with the 21. Adding a small amount of water made it a little better for me.
El Dorado is not my favorite rum. I find the 12 year is smoother (12 year still has a bite!) than the 15 year.
This has a special place in my heart. A bar man showed me this and said this is what he calls a smooth rum. It is smooth complex and tasty.
After his suggestion I went to the shop and brought a bottle. This is a rum to show your mates who are new to sipping rums what a quality one is.
This rum started my journey. I'll have a glass tonight now I think as it brings back happy memories.
This is easily on of my favorite rums. Great flavor. Great sipping rum and I only share it with other rum lovers.
Not as smooth as you might expect from a 15 but great rounded demerara flavour
El Dorado family is in a kind of its own, and the whole line up should be tried back to back. 15 is a very decent rum with a very balanced taste, but still keeping a family's signature aftertaste.
I have to admit I was wanting a little more from this, but it is a solid sipper.
I've been a fan of the 12yo El Dorado for the 3-4 past years but now that my tastes have changed / refined, I found the 12yo to be a bit too sweet, si I now prefer this one. The 15 year old El Dorado share some of the aromes of the 12yo but is a very different rum, less sweet, more leathery, maybe some dark chocolate notes. Definately a sipping rum, with one ice cube or straight, would not waste this one in cuba libre
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

odeur douce agréable tirant sur la vanille, le bois
en bouche assez sec, très léger gout de vanille puis viens le gout de fut, de bois, presque cuir, rhum complexe et puissant qui demande d'avoir un peu d'expérience pour l'apprécier.
