El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

This rum has an amazing pallet ranging in vanilla, roasted coffee, and honey. It finishes with a licorice, leather, and a deep fruit flavor. When you pop the cork the aroma is sweet with a caramel hint. This will definitely be a keeper to have on deck in my rum line up.
perfect rum for me at the moment, balance of sweetness, and tropical wood
Really fantastic rum that is well balance and complex - an absolute joy
This is a rum easily enjoyed with nothing but a couple of ice cubes. Fantastic value for the quality of the rum.
Very good rum with great power but what the hell is this sugar added value?
Too much sugar for me. This demerara deserved better treatment. No sugar would be great !
I prefer the 12 years....but....a side by side is always enjoyable .
Very nice mid range rum. Nice dark tones, smooth smell and not too sweet soft taste that does not disappear quickly leaving a warm lasting sensation.
This rum costs 40$ and I really have yet to taste anything close to as good in this price range. I agree with another reviewer that this is the standard to judge other rums. Sure, some are better, but not for the price.
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is one of my favorite in my large collection. Don't spend too much money. $40 gets one an excellent sipping rum such as this. With delicious and unique flavor, it's a value. I only enjoy smooth rums.
