El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

I really like this one. But considering the price the El Dorado 12 is a little better.
Lots of complexity... sweet front and enjoyable bourbon cask notes
If i remember right 12 is much more in-your-face demerara taste, while this one is richer, more complex and smoother, but more alcoholy. When it comes to enjoyment factor its pretty much the same. One of very few rums ill drink on the rocks, as i usually have my rums neat.
This is one of the driest rums that I have had but it is really good. It has little heat and is quite smooth. This is a rum worthy of being sipped. If you choose to taste/pair it with chocolate, you may need to go with milk chocolate. It is more dry than the Real McCoy but less so than Zacapa XO. At around $50 a bottle, it is worth the money IF you like dry rums or just rum in general but if you prefer sweet rum, this may be one that "won't impress." Personally, I prefer sweet rums but I am absolutely a fan of all good rum and make no mistake, this is good rum! I highly recommend it for any connoisseur that may have missed it. In short...damn good stuff!
Този ром е много добър, макар и малко по-сладък. Цената е добра за качеството и годините на отлежаване.
Excellent. Very good flavor, no bad aftertaste, love it.
One of my favorites for drinking after a long day at work. Full body, smooth and sweet just enough.
My first El Dorado, a nice compromise between dry & sweet. Great neat or over ice.
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

For me it is very similar to El Dorado 12. Softer in taste. It's not worth the money for El Dorado 12.
