40% double aged no age statement rum
No information about stills, probably mostly column
Nose: Very fruity and sweet, loads of vanilla and caramel, fresh banana and so on
Taste: Light and very sweet, fruitiness is still very persistent but its mostly just fruit candy like, lots of vanilla and caramel, also lots of cinnamon, also some other spices. Very lightly oaky.
Finish: Sugary smooth, doesnt stay for long but no of flavors either.
Overall, not the purest expression of Barbadian rum for sure but it is good and inoffensive, not very interesting but as a mixer, great one in my opinion.
It's an ok rum, it works great for mixing with rum and Coke and perhaps other rum drinks.
Great rum to a great price. It works well in drinks even though it’s a bit strong. Would recommend!
Tried this one on my second attempt (after excellent Barcelo Gran Anejo) with a sipping rum that is more affordable. Big disappointment, not able to sip it because of a strong alcohol taste.
This was the bottle that started me down the rum trail, prior to this I only tasted cheap white rum that was only bareble with lots of Coke. Now this is not an exelent rum but it's a perfect rum for beginners, who like me (in my youth) thought that rum was like vodka with a wierd side taste. It goes well in drinks and you can use it as an avec, not a great avec but great value for the money.
I just don't see whats the big deal with this rum. It's kinda okay in a sense. The alcohol taste is quite strong and so are the rum notes, however it's not too enjoyable to sip. A good rum to drink straight from the bottle, but i wouldn't bother with including this in a rum tasting. As a saving factor the bottle is good looking, if you're into using bottles as a decoration.
Til trods for at det “bare”’er en Grand Reserva er den yderst interessant. Frisk og sød på een gang - tydelige citrus toner.
Quite ok, but that’s it. Boozy, sweet, lick of honey.
Too smooth and gentle to be a good cheap rum, and not complex enough to be a decent mid-priced stuff. May go well in a mix, but why should you pay more for a mixer?
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is likely the best value of a sipping rum that I've had. It's very versatile - can be used as an inexpensive mixer or a sipping rum on a similar level as the slightly more expensive El Dorado 12 or my usual go-to, the Ron Zacapa 23 at less than half the price.
