Good balance of sugar and alcohol, caramel and vanilla flavors. Smooth
Had this one during the corona lockdown with my Friends. Must say this is not the best Zacapa I had. To me it's a bit to harsh. The smokey taste is to overwhelming and it has an aftertaste which I don't like. The taste has more oak to it than the original 23 years Zacapa and it doesn't work for me! Something personal!
Great over ice...brings out the smooth caramel flavours.
Obviously a quality rum but I much prefer the original 23, which I think is very good. I find the peat like smokiness here to be distracting. If I want that flavor I will go drink a Malt Whiskey from the western Islands of Scotland.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Love this rum. It has a nice fruity complexity with some really nice charred under tones, very subtle smokeyness. I think it would be interesting to see what could be done with a longer ageing and how it would taste cask if it was stronger like 50 Abv.
