Appleton Estate 12-Year Rum is a blend of several rums aged between 12 and 18 years in American oak barrels after being distilled using small-batch copper pot stills.
The rum is produced on the Appleton Estate, which sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica. The estate’s origins date back as far as 1655 when the English overthrew the Spanish to rule the island and Frances Dickinson, grandfather of the distillery’s founders, received the land as a reward for his role in the overthrow.

Appleton makes two different 12 year blends that l am aware is. This one is not sold in Ontario, Canada, but a friend brought me this back from a trip. Very nice Jamaican style rum for sipping.
Chutove hodne silny, stipe na jazyku. Prijemna chut bez nezadoucich slozek. Velice suchy rum.
Mindre sötman utifrån Jamaicas regelverk som gör den lite mindre bra än den kunnat vara, fungerar fint att dricka bar men inte inom de 10 i topp för mig.

I was introduced to this Rum many years ago while in Jamaica. I found it to be a definite upgrade from the Special Gold. The smoothness of the finish and rich flavor made this the go-to Rum for me for many years.
Interesting nose with just a bit of a bite at the back end. Not a sipper for me, a bit dry with that bite coming through. Mixed with cola it was very good, full body with a lot of different flavors coming through. Not quite as good with citrus but still
Solid.
This is not a favorite but will keep it around for a change of pace...

Great rum from one of the big names. Very decent for the price range, good flavour and quite sweet. I enjoyed it on ice.

The rum offers a lot of smoky spiced oak flavour.

not that amazing neat but a high end ingredient for mixing tiki drinks, pretty good in a mai tai especially with clement vsop. a bit too much burnt sugar/fruit flavor for my taste.
