El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Got a chance to taste this one a quite some time ago. But what I recall, it was a pleasant experience and the rum left a good impression.
Watch out! Maybe the sweetest rum I've ever tasted.
Even with large amounts of sugar, it is light and pleasant.
Notes of fruits and caramel.

One of the rums you keep on hand for a little treat. Sipped with a bit of ice, very nice. The 15 and 21 are better.
On a list as a fave. It pleases the doing a and the soul.
I'm no purist so as a sipping rum the added sugar is fine. Mixing it with cola or something like that I'd imagine would be too sweet since you're adding two sweet things together.. but I'm sure some would still enjoy it that way. I always have some in stock.

Super molassy. Wich I love. Sweet yet spicy. Not at all woody like some other rums. Very plesant but a good burn.
