I bought this rum to add to my arsenal. It goes down easy and mixes well with pineapple or orange juice.
When I first popped the cork and smelled this I was shocked. Very strong scents of banana and vanilla. No alcohol smell at all. In the glass it smelled like more banana. First sip was banana, vanilla and caramel. Very smooth but very sweet. Like rediculously smooth. It fades to a nice spice and heat but the sweetness coats the mouth. I was expecting more flavor but the sweetness doesnt allow it to come through. Overall good but too sweet to be a sipper. And I like sweet.
Mixing this made for some very tasty drinks. And it is my wife new favorite for rum and cokes.
Very sweet, the vanilla tastes good but the strong artificial banana taste is weird. It's nice when compared to most of the competition. It's overpriced for what it is but the bottles nice.
Surprisingly, not that bad. However definitely not classic.
Smells strong vanilla from distance yet feels like somewhat enhanced. Taste is sweet as candy and a bit unnatural. Was it not so over the head, would be perfect.
I really liked this rum. At first, I thought it was a Banana flavored Rum. But no—just an estery, funky (slightly spiced) rum. It’s sweet, but not too sweet. Very smooth. Not my favorite, but a good choice. Interesting and different for sure! I don’t usually drink or enjoy spiced rum, but this is objectively a good product. Haters are probably a little biased against spiced rums in general—this is hardly even that. Closer to a strong Jamaican in flavor profile.
The nose smells very sweet. Llashings of caramel and toffee.
"It barely even tastes like alcohol in any way shape or form. No mid palate and definitely no finish not even the slightest hint of alcohol burn. Maybe a little bit of woodiness as it goes down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I love many different styles of rum. This Bumbu is in a specific category. Sweet, creamy, orange zest. So great as an old fashioned with Angostura. Maybe you wouldn’t expect a 7 of me compared to my other 7+ ratings, but this is just another style. And within that category this is really great.
