Not a bad taste, but it will hit you hard.still enjoyable.
Nose: a lot of caramel and maybe some vanilla. Also might contain some demerara. Evolves into a pretty intense alcohol smell.
Taste: burn starts of nice but intensifies quite a bit and lingers a lot. Actually rather smooth for this amount of alcohol. Demerara notes. Pretty sweet but in a good way. Also a lot of spices which I can't really identify. A bit smokey and oakey. Not very complex.
Finish: ends rather dry but keeps going for a bit. Burn intensifies.
Final: would definitely recommend to people who are used to, or like, rums that pack a punch. This will do great in any cocktail where you're searching for a liquor that can compete with other strong-tasting ingredients. Can, absolutely, be enjoyed neat but I recommend adding (at least) 3 drops of water, which is the way I like it, to just get the rough edges of.
Notes: added 3 drops of water. Also I'm an inexpercienced taster so the details might be inaccurate, but it's still really enjoyable for my under-developped palate.
Pusser’s Gunpowder Proof
I purchased a bottle of Pusser’s Gunpowder Proof primarily because I enjoy the Blue Label (40% ABV) version from time to time. On the nose I detected coffee, caramel and molasses which was quite enjoyable. In the mouth these flavours blended very well and in spite of preferring dry rums I found this one quite delicious. Have tried and disliked several “sweeter” rums due to the sweetness but the higher ABV in this rum seems to work and In my case I find this to be a nice “sipper” on its own. Well done!
If you think of rum two groups of people come to mind: Pirates and The (British) Navy. This rum celebrates the traditions of the later and delivers a tasty navy rum that was made by the book.
Nose: Licorice, heavy molasses and strangely a slight whiff of myseost
Taste: Rich taste of marmelade, molasses, oak and a slight bitterness in the end to follow the comfortable burn in the end. Long and pleasant aftertaste follows for a while after drinking.
Overall: I don´t have much experience with navy rum and the ones I have tried have felt off. This one delivers on style and taste to the point where I am ready to explore this style some more.
Slam den sparker hårdt.
Kompleks i smagen og masse fylde og aroma
This overproof is rich in flavour with a sharp overproof taste. Ive enjoyed it on the rocks to keep that crisp warm taste alive. If you enjoy rum- this should be added to your collection as it is mine.
Rum potente ed equilibrato, retrogusto intenso. Indicatissimo per un dopocena
strong stuff!
as this is supposedly the classic rum ration stuff, I wanted it in my rum cabinet.
Nice aftertaste of raisins
strong taste, a bit wiskey-like, but quite okay. I like overproof but here disappears some taste, needs watering
It is fruity, hints of smokiness.
"It’s not sickly and overly spiced like some navy rums. There is a real complexity about this rum with a lot of flavour. ."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It’s an overproofed rum that is decent for tiki drinks. But there’s better choices in overproofed rum.
