This is a 22yo Jamaican single barrel pot-still rum bottled at 106 proof. It is not for the faint-hearted. Whew. I was almost knocked out by the overpowering esters and plastic/acetone aromas which carried through to the tasting. Even after 20 minutes it was only a bit more approachable. Still not friendly, exactly, but at least drinkable. The tasting notes on the back label suggest "pepperoni, olive oil, mozzarella and charcoal". Amusing. I think this rum is probably great but it's not within my comfort zone.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

On to the third sample of the night, a Jamaican rum bottled at 52.9 % ABV. This rum is very light in colour and the aroma is not sweet (compared to some Bajan rums) but very crisp. The 52.9 % ABV makes this an easy rum to drink. Lots of flavours and I find this very enjoyable
