Great value for money, very chocolated, sweet and toasted.
One of the best Venezuela rum I tasted so dat. I love IT!
Great sipping rum.
On nose and mouth we have: Vanilla, caramel, toffee and an hint of cinnamon.
It’s smooth, sweet and really easy to sip.
Perfect rum for begginers and still good for connoisseurs. A little too sugared for me.
Hightly recommended.
($72 CAD) Well after a long search, I found the Diplomatico in Saskatchewan. For whatever reason, the Dip dipped from Alberta which unfortunately led to higher expectations. (Especially given them SK prices...)
Smells heavily of cola and molasses with a little vanilla, quite intriguing.
Taste is a bit subdued, but maybe I’m just used to the Mantuano which seems to have more character. Heavy dose of cola with a side of sweetness. Decent finish that holds some dried fruit and nuts with plenty of oak.
Overall: not bad. I think the Mantuano has much more value though. This dram is sweet and easy to drink but I would appreciate more character.
Very aromatic, three cubes of ice, two finger pour and wait 3 mins. Flavor a just open up...enjoy.
Easy transition if you’re just getting into rum. Switched me on and I’ve since branched out, but it’s still a nice sipper. Great price point. Enjoyable flavor.
Very available here in Florida and a great sipping rum!
For not having a ridiculous age statement (18 years or whatever written in bold font,) this is the smoothest rum that doesn't slap you in the face with how smooth it SHOULD be. Supposedly it is 12 years aged, however the bottle doesn't tell that tale. Either way, this is like drinking silk. It's stupid smooth! There's also zero bite and its perfectly sweetened. While it might seem underwhelming to some as a result of all that (some people like challenges that let them know they're drinking booze,) this is my gold/light (because I don't use light) rum of choice when I make cocktails. It's not cheap but it's well worth the money, and yes, you can (and I do,) drink it Neat or On the Rocks too. This is one of my four essential bottles in my house and I keep two on hand at all times. Yes, it's that good and that important to my cocktail making. Buy it immediately!
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."
