Le Diplomatico m'a fait tomber amoureux du Rhum.
Autant à humer (caramel, vanille, noisette), qu'à déguster.
After reading some of the recommendations for sampling this rum I wanted to try it as a sipper and damn if they weren't right this is great on its own. I even added a twist of lime and damn again. Keep calm and sample on.
I admit I'm biased when it comes to this rum it was one of my first sipping rums I loved it then and I love it now. It's very sweet definitely a dessert rum perfect for a night cap or having a few after dinner. Some people complain about the added sugar but you know what I don't care ! It's delicious ! Drink straight or on the rocks don't mix this rum especially with Cola it would be a shame
Nose: a pleasure to nose lots of caramel and nuttiness
Taste: it's basically liquid candy Caramel, vanilla and walnuts
Throat: dangerously smooth kinda scary actually haha
Sweet, smooth, good body, with all the good notes found in a high end sipping rum at a more reasonable price. I keep this one stocked in my liquor cabinet.
Dilomatico is a little bit sweet but not too much. Also it smells very nice and you can feel beautiful and full taste of high quality rum (especialy for this price).
But this rum is a bit sharper than expected. In overall It is one of the best price/value ratio on the rum market.
This is a go to bottle for your rum experience, affordable and smooth. always enjoy straight on ice or mixed strong in a classic cuba libra
The best thing about this rum is the fact that as you drink it and the sharpness wears down, it becomes sweeter like a cherry liquor.
This was one of the first aged rum I tasted.
Nice vanilla and caramel aroma. A really sweet rum. Maybe too much for rum rum lovers.
But a really easy to drink choice. A great rum for newcomers to the rum world.
Dark amber color with copper tones and turn bright, its scent is seductive, warm, complex, sweet, notes of orange peel, brown sugar, oak, cinnamon and allspice are first perceived. Nuts (walnuts and almonds), vanilla and slightly honey.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Tried this rum when out to dinner recently. Was enjoyable and had a very smooth finish, I would definitely give it another go or grab a bottle for home
