Oversweet and underflavored. Much as I hate most of their products, Bacardi's coconut rum is actually quite good for an easy to find alternative. Brinley's is better but not as easy to find.

Low strength and sweet, but decent coconut taste. Inoffensive. Mixes into drinks well.

This one is not a sipper for me. I've tried it in several cocktails and it works well for me.

This with some sprite, a lime, and pineapple juice is the only way I can drink this.

This is not my thing or type of booze (I really don't like artificially flavor-infused alcohols of any kind) I only have it for some sweet summer blended drinks my wife loves to have now and then.

So, this is as plain, generic, commercially brewed syrup rum as you can get. This is essentially like a Canadian using Mrs. Butterworths. Really, you are on a site with badass runs and you are looking up this stuff? C’mon I’m a rum rookie and one look at this bottle says it generic crap. Why would you come to a site like this and look up this? Why did I post about it, well because I used to drink it before the rum snobs enlightened me AND mostly I am just trying to get a stupid badge for rating another rum. So, c’mon you can do way better than this for a few bucks more. Right? You know it’s true... thanks Millie Vanilli.

This has nothing in common with a fine aged rum, so I am rating it as a liqueur. It is sweeter and smoother with a better taste than Malibu. Similar to Blue Chair Bay without the extra spice. My wife also prefers it to the other coconut rums.

I love coconut flavored rums but this one is a little to harsh for me. I prefer sweeter rums and this is not one of them.

On my quest to find a replacement for when my only bottle of Koloa Toasted Coconut Rum finally runs out, this one was recommended to me. The coconut aroma is almost as good as the Kola, but that is where the good sensation ends. On the tongue, it tastes like heavy syrup, with only a slight artificial coconut flavor for the after taste. No burn at all and one would not expect this at only 21% ABV. After back to back comparisons some time later, this one belongs in the "simple syrup with coconut flavors" category. So it looks like when that bottle of Koloa runs out, I will have to suffice with Blue Chair Bay Coconut Rum with real coconut flavor and it's excessive sweetness. That would be going back to where my quest all started until I lucked out to find that bottle of 80 proof Koloa a week ago.

I have also not had any luck with other flavored rums from Cruzan. I tried their Guava Rum in a bar and it tastes nothing at all like that namesake fruit. Not repulsive, but not worth buying a bottle.
