For me rum and islay is just not a match I like. I like islay whisky, it just doesn't goes well with rum
As Rhum Agricole it has quite a different appearance from what I used to know from "normal" Rum. It is not so sweet but has a more alcoholic and "hard" taste. But it is nice and the finish in Islay casks does a good addon to a very special taste. I like it although it is so different.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

My father bought the bottle In Martinique. As a big fan of Islay whisky, my first thinking was on how can you balance the smoky style of Islay with rum !! They really did a great job!! Absolutely not killing the taste of the rum but you can feel in after taste the Islay finish !!
