PX barrels used to age this blend. It’s quite sweet and has a pleasant palate. You have the regular grassy and straw conbination, but it has a very noticeable presence of sherry and wood. Very enjoyable rhum. Does not have a overly sweet smell like Plantations that put you off.

Gar nicht so verkehrt, etwas sprittig bei nur 46%. Das wird etwas von der Würze kaschiert, aber insgesamt nicht harmonisch und etwas dünn. Sherry kommt sehr deutlich und vergräbt den Rum nicht komplett. Aber 100€ für 0,5 - no way. Der Preis spielt in meiner Bewertung aber keine Rolle.

Rhum de 2005 embouteillé fin 2013 version Pedro Ximenez.
Il s'agit d'un HSE VSOP qui a vieilli 6 mois dans des fûts de sherry.
Belle couleur ambrée.
Nez : riche, sucré, fruité, fruits confits, miel...
Attaque : douce, liquoreuse puis notes d'alcool, épices avec un côté fruité très plaisant.
Finale : exceptionnellement longue, goût de canne.
La puissance du rhum agricole avec l'onctuosité d'une bonne liqueur.
Le défaut : le prix et seulement 50 cl.
NB : j'ai goûté l'autre sherry finish chez HSE, il est beaucoup plus sec.

45% ABV. Aged 6 years. Similar to the fino/oloroso, but slightly sweeter finish. I'm thinking HSE is having just a little too much fun with all these cask finishes...
