This feels like the right appletons for me. The taste is nice, it can be sipped or mixed.
Can't tell any difference from the 15 year old and far superior to the 8.
Best value buy in the appletons I have tried.
Really interesting beast and quite intriguing as well. Heavy on the nose with leathery/wood overtones, toffee and more wood on the palette and nice alcoholic aftertaste. A bit strong and harsh in the beginning but goes smooth afterwards. Very complex experience overall and probably good introduction into the realm of Appleton rums.

It was a bit of suprise as after the first sip bottle label was checked and 43% showed up. Extra smooth, non harsh, a super solid jamaican rum. It offers a slight sweetness as soon as it reaches your tongue, then followed by pleasant oakiness.
For my taste, the drink is not bad, but harsh, a lot of alcohol and lacks sweetness and aroma.
Smooth but with a bite. Nice Jamaican not to sweet.
Nice shape to the bottle. Pineapple and grapefruit scent to a smokey rum. Lovely flavour in the mouth with a gentle burn in the throat. A lovely sipping rum that is easy to drink.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This definitely has plenty of Jamaican "funk". When that's what I'm in the mood for, this is my go-to sipping rum. Smooth, rich and complex with plenty of character. Fruit and spice is complemented by a strong woody flavour with leathery overtones. It also makes a VERY tasty rum & coke, but that feels like a waste.
I've given it 8 due to the modest pricing (in context of the quality). If it cost 30% more, I'd probably give it a 7.
