Starts of friendly, but then hits you hard. Good rum in its style, just not for me personally so Im finding it difficult to rate objectively. Too much like whiskey than rum for my taste.
A bit harsh, expected a bit more from this one, also taste quite close to cognacs.
This rhum offers a very good start into the wolr of rhum agricoles. It offers nice notes of vanilla, the palate comes by without burn. This rhum is suprisingly mild and generous though it already shows the distinct grassy dry notes of an agricole.
Un ron fino y sedoso. El dulzor es natural. Acaba como un Bourbón muy turboso.
I really enjoy this one. It has a natural sweetness to it that I enjoy, and the medicinal quality is minimal. Non non-existent, but minimal enough to be ignorable. Adding a splash of water, or pouring i over ice, really dulls the burn and, if it bothers you that much, minimizes the medicinal quality even more.
The cool thing about this one is that it's one of those that can be both a sipper and a mixer. As a sipper, it's smooth and easy. As a mixer, it lends a complex body that many other mixers won't. It's one of the few rums where, in a rum & cola, I'd go heavier on the rum rather than the cola (I usually prefer going heavier on the cola).
Definitely seek this one out. It's worth it.
When I traveled to Paris I've got nice case of Clement rhum. It was the set of six samples from blanc to vieux. I've tried all of them and I liked VSOP version much more. It was the perfect mix of fresh grass and old barrels with addition of sweet fruits. I was fascinated with it and now I want to buy regular bottle.
I’ve tasted a few agricole and have enjoyed them. I picked this bottle up and I’m very pleased with my purchase. It’s very well priced. The aromas are just incredible. It’s nice to sip on something different. Like most agricole it does have a whiskey taste but a really good whiskey.i would happily buy another bottle. I think any serious rum junkie should give an agricole a try.
N- Orange, liquorice, berries, hudson candy. Old Fashioned with extra orange peel, angostura herbs bitter. Smokes, chocolate with oak headiness, buttery, forest pine and natural, turned earth with more chocolate developed. Not very agricole-y, more towards molasses. Feinty notes developed with rubber, resin and more oak. Well made with bold aromas. (88/22)
P- Molasses with citrus sharpness that give it a refreshing lift. Orange, sazerac, rye-ish and fragrant. (87/21)
F- Medium-long, medicinal, waxy, nutty nuance and clean. (87/21)
B/B- 86/20. Balanced and natural on flavour, but wee thin on body.

Not bad by any stretch but pretty underwhelming. Thin and flabby on the pallet.
