this is one of my first rum. maybe a mistake in my choice. too dry for me. i have to go to more sweet rums
Higher end French agricole style rum with dry earthy notes. Packaging is ok, however, I can never understand why companies use cheap aluminum or plastic screw caps, especially when their rum represents their older sibling and price to match!
Not being a fan of rums that taste like wine or sherry; I wasn't expecting much from this one.
Thankfully it's not as wine-like as the Dos Maderos 5+5. But still; not what I look for in a premium rum. At least it's smooth and not over priced.
A very interesting bottle to try. The floral and crisp notes of the 8 year have aged and become slightly more syrupy. This also comes with a more robust and wine-like mouth feel. Still a very solid agricole.
A deliciously dry sipping rum. I wasn't sure what to expect, but what a pleasant surprise. There's a wonderful complexity on the tongue, that evokes fine cognacs.
I'm not too fond of this style of rum, unfortunately. I prefer sweeter and more... rum-taste.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Nothing really wrong with this rum, but it wasn't a standout for me. At $50, it doesn't compare favorably with the competition. Subtle and smooth, slightly dry. Finishes nice.
