At first, I did not rate this rum. The pineapple seemed a bit synthetic, more like sweets than actual pineapple. However, mixing in a dash of ting has been an absolute game changer.
I still dont know if I like this one or not. But probably the best flavored rum that I tried so far.
Perhaps not one for all rum purists, but this is a far cry from a spiced rum, so I would recommend trying it with an open mind.
When I first uncorked the bottle, it was like sniffing a ripe pineapple that had been soaked in smooth and fruity rum. The taste was then no surprise, with strong notes of pineapple, which doesn't overpower the rummy flavour. The combination of infusing the rum with pineapple bark and then adding distilled pineapple macerate gives a fruity flavour, whilst remaining far less sweet than you might expect ("off-dry" is probably the best descriptor), with a hint of burnt molasses and a smokey finish. I haven't tried the Plantation Original Dark that is used as the base for this, but can deduce that it must have a fairly prominent banana flavour, as this cuts through behind the pineapple. As with most rums, adding a tiny splash of water opens up the flavour a bit.
As has already been said by others, it would be very easy to sip your way through half a bottle of this neat without realising.
I haven't tried mixing it yet, but I'm going to have some with a splash of hot water and some sugar before bed tonight :)
A pleasant diversion from the most classic rum. Taste of tropical fruits and especially pineapple. Great shot after dinner.
Drinking this rum was a must for me coz I love pineapples but as for spending money on rum I think I will choose different botlle next time when I will have to pick between this and something else. Like with women this rum is good material for one night stand, it was fun, but let's check something different next time;)
Final verdict: I will not buy it again
Отличный ром, вкус интересный, ананас ощущается. Нет ярко выраженной ванили свойственной большинству ромов.
Sadly nothing much going on in there, no aftertaste, just stingy ethanol and pineapple additive. Not terrible either, but you get what you see. Update: Compared to normal pineapple Plantation, it is actually quite nice, not that sweet and more complex.
The nose is sweet but not overly so.
"Smells very much of fresh pineapple as opposed to sweetened tinned pineapple."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Always stayed away but from spiced rums in the past, but spotted this on sale in M&S, 20% off, so thought I'd give it a go. (£26:50).
Pleasantly surprised by the superb blend of rum and pineapple.
No where near as sickly as I thought it might be, a real rum flavour thats so easy to sip.
Great on the nose, lovely colour and surprisingly strong legs when swirled in the glass.
Love the way that 30 seconds after drinking it, your lips explode with the fruity tingling taste that lasts for ages.
Neat or with ice, a winner for me.
Enjoy, Graham.
