Possibly the worst rum I’ve ever tasted. It’s overpriced and overrated. The only reason I gave a rating of 1 was the nostalgic memories it gave me of drinking rum and coke when I was a teenager. Happy days.
Why? Just because it says Bacardi on the label? Where I live it costs the same as the Havana 3 year (much, much superior).
Very much like smelling turpentine if having it neat so I wouldn't do it. Tastes not as bad as it smells but that's a low bar. On its own there's not much to rave about but in a cocktail calling for white rum, it's complimentary to the other flavours so as not to overwhelm the overall taste. Granted my standards are low, but I do have standards......
This is a quite unimpressive rum it is like water no taste nothing in the nose.aftertaste?hmmm
Nose: almost odourless. Probably the most odourless rum I‘ve come along.
Palate: also on the tongue very shy, little taste, some vanilla maybe. No burn.
The fact of being so taste- and odourless might be a pro when using for some cocktails. And being tasteless is still better than tasting like hand sanitizer (captain morgan).
Je trouve que vous êtes injuste avec ce rhum ! Beaucoup le fustige en oubliant qu'il s'agit d'un rhum à mixer et non d'un rhum à consommer tel quel, j'ai l'impression :-)
Pour ma part, c'est celui que j'utilise le + pour faire des mojito et des daiquiri ! En effet, je trouve qu'il reste relativement discret dans les cocktail tout en donnant un coup de peps agréable en respectant l'équilibre entre les ingrédients.

But 99% my colleagues were very happy when presented with this rum + some tetra pack juice mixed in.
Devastating. Nothing to do with rum. Just a combination of advertising and people’s ignorance
only good to mix.

The extra point is for old times sake. This was served in bars and was the base for some good memories with my friends... But at the most I use it in cocktails if the rum is not the main ingredient that makes the taste...
