At first smell I had a doubt but very good and soft to the taste. My 2nd best agricole rum after the Clement
Drank this at a whiskeyseminar and have a hard time remembering it's taste. What i do know is that it's taste was a bit plain and boozey.
When I tried this rum on La Palma, its taste was insane compared to the other rums of the distillery Aldea. Back home the bottle I bought had a strong booze smell (bad cask?), which improved after some time. Nevertheless, this a rum made out of sugarcane honey, so it leans more towards a whiskey-like experience than a sweet rum. Its smell is somewhere in between dried fruits and dry/earth/leather/oak aromas.
Beau nez, assez complexe sur les arômes de tabac, sucre, mélasse. Un petit coté porto.
Original rum from de la Palma of Canary Islands. After ageing 22 years in barrels, the taste is naturally very smooth. It's not sweet at all. Reminds me a bit of 1931 from St. Lucia. I recommend it for celebrating special occasions - likely being a once-in-a-lifetime experience. (We had the bottle numbered 2444 of 3428.)
This one smells and taste fruity and I definitely like rums that taste fruity yet don't have that Merlot taste to it. It reminds me of some of those Panamanian rums I like so much.
The bottle says it's aged 22 years and you can tell; it is as smooth as anything. I only hope they haven't loaded it with extra sugars!
delicous - a very seldom rum - but a very good quality
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

... not amazing. Still a quality Aldea rum, no doubt. Maybe I expected too much in advance
