This is a very different spiced rum. The flavour is very strong when consumed straight and can become quite sickly. However, just a splash with coke and you have created a very tasty drink. Without knowing the actual fruits used, this tastes like a rum version of southern comfort. You get the touch of clove and cassia and a distinctive citrus/berry fruitiness that is really something else.
The rum has a main note of strong cinnamon. The strongest cinnamon flavor I have had on a commercial spiced rum. There is some vanilla and other spices such as clove apparent. This rum also offers a sweetness to it that the Kweyol Spice does not offer, which is a traditionally spiced rum with little sweetness, also the cinnamon is much stronger nearly overpowering. Tasted at the distillery in St. Lucia. Too much cinnamon for me to enjoy straight.
Pretty new to drinking rum but I've tried a few different brands now and this is by far my number 1 (so far)
Was not as good as I was expecting, but very satisfying. Drank the bottle over ice and mixed with Coke. I enjoyed the vanilla and other spices. I did try the "neat" taste test and found the flavor very inviting.
The first things you notice about this rum is the colour and then the smell. A nice browny red, with a very unique and inviting smell (Like original Old Spice deodorant - In a good way). You're either going to love or hate the taste of this rum. When mixed with cola, it's smooth and light bodied and has a very unusual taste. Sort of like Dr. Pepper but lighter and simpler. Good to "mix it up" once in a while, from regular amber rums. Enjoy!
I found the spices to be well balanced and the rum is full of flavor. One of the few rums that I enjoy straight up. Hard to find a better spiced rum anywhere.
Like christmas in a bottle. Lovely ruby red colour in the bottle, and a rose gold colour in the glass. Cinnamony smell (I dont normally like cinnamon but in this case it just works) with a slight orangey/citrus scent. Sweet taste in the mouth with a warming (but not burning) aftertaste. Goes down smooth and is best drunk on its own, as a mixer would take away from the flavours. Definitely a favourite.
Le gout de cannelle y est beaucoup trop prononcé. Je n'ai pas l'impression de boire un rhum mais plutôt une liqueur de cannelle.
A real positiv suprice, sweet, maby a little to sweet at first, but after a few sip, It where ok.
Nicely spiced with cinnamon.
"is infused with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla"
"Chairman's Reserve Spiced rum review by The Fat Rum Pirate"
It has quite a forward cinnamon aroma.
"Its pretty smooth and doesn’t give much burn beyond the cinnamon kick. It’s not very rough it has a fairly pleasant burn."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I will give this an 8. Relative just to other spiced rums it would be higher but relative to the best rums, it would be lower. So somewhere in the middle. This is not overloaded with vanilla and sweet flavours as most spiced rums are. More complex and very enjoyable as a sipper. I haven't even bothered trying to mix it. If you can get it in St. Lucia or Barbados, it's a massive bargain for the price at around $11US.
