Saint Lucia | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Chairman's Reserve rum is produced in St Lucia using continuous and pot stills. The rum from these stills are aged for 3-4 years separetly, then combined and aged for 6 more months to marry the flavors.
The first blend of Chairman’s Reserve was produced in 1999 by St. Lucia Distillers, which was founded in 1932, and overseen by the company's Chairman Laurie Barnard.

For the price you will be hard pushed to find a better honest unadulterated Rum. An absolute joy to sip neat, no harsh alcohol taste, very, very smooth but with enough heat to keep it interesting, and plenty of wonderful flavours to excite the palate. Not sweet or fruity, more leather, tobacco and wood flavours.
With the first glass, I really enjoyed just sniffing it, on the nose there is hint of Jamaican-style overripe banana, especially at the beginning of the bottle, towards the end of the bottle you can feel more pronounced charred oak, it has sweet and fruity taste, with the smoky tones of a good whisky combined with a bit of toffee, tiny alcohol bite at the end which is which is almost hidden in the aftertaste which combines spicyness with charred barrel, it is surprisingly smooth and sippable for its age (under 5y), with no added sugar. It is not a very complex rum in the taste profile, but it is very well made and the combination of wood with a bit of Jamaican funk works very well for me. I can sip it, mix it, it excels in both categories. It is a bloody good value for the money, so there goes score 8.
Not bad stuff. Bit rough to drink neat, nice with a mixer. Can't really give it a 7.
A slightly rubbery character in the nose with raisins, honey, vanilla and a bit of oak. The pot still is apparent. Not bad. The notes follow through in the mouth. It's not extraordinarily refined, but enough so given the price and to my palette, enjoyable neat. A nice and cheap dram.
Neat its a quite warm sip.better than when mixed with coke. I preferred it with a little breathing time. In other words I let it sit for a while. I'm not going to rush out and replace this bottle but not because i didn't like it. It's just very similar to other stuff and there's so many more to try.

I drank about 20 or so glasses neat in St. Lucia. This is the way to go. This needs time to breath in the glass. As this sits for a while it really opens up. Nice strong spice and totally smooth with a nice amount of pot still rum. Picked up a 1L bottle in St. Lucia for 16 US. It has a strong alcohol when poured that needs time to rest to open a spicy enjoyable nose.
"sweet and fruity but has a bit of smokiness"
"Chairman's Reserve rum review by The Fat Rum Pirate"
It’s sweet and fruity but has a bit of smokiness to it as well.
"It can be sipped and it isn’t rough or harsh. There is a bit of an alcohol burn but even that is quite smoky and pleasant."

Nevýrazný, ničím zvláštny rum. Pre bežné popíjanie v pohode. Chuť trošku ostrejšia, drevitá.
