Bottle purchased in Wichita. Pours dark gold. Aroma of a blast furnace. This is not quite as perfect a product as Lemon Hart, but this will certainly do as a close second choice. Donโ€™t you dare light this on fire. Made it in a classic daiquiri and it really shines with a great Demerara sweetness and a potent heat.

Not a fan, which is Weird because the st lucia hamilton is amazing. The nose is like diplomatico taste is rancid and burn is overpowering again not as smooth as st lucia. Maybe mixed in a cocktail but otherwise a no go

It's not even close for me. I love the heavy brown sugar nose on Hamilton 151 and use it in all my Tiki drinks requiring black overproof rum.

When you combine this with the also brown sugar Gossling's Black Seal for a Naked Ape it's a really fun time.

As I noted in my review of Plantation OFTD, also in this rum category, Hamilton 151 is more of a single note than OFTD. So if you really appreciate complexity then you may like that better.

This is my preferred 151 rum. Ed Hamilton has done a great job producing a high proof rum that also has wonderful flavor. Molasses flavor is perfect.

This has to be one of the best overproofs on the market. Fair price. Hamilton has a solid reputation for quality. Itโ€™ll definitely add that missing ingredient to your drinks!

This rum may be one of the best bargains out there. To get an amazing overproof rum that is not only great for mixing but can also be used as a sipper at this price point is truly special. Do yourself a favor a pickup a bottle!

I love 151 rums. They're cost effective and the most flavor dense rums if you mix them properly. Lemonhart is my favorite. This may be my second favorite. Hamilton 151 has great Demerara flavor. I only like Lemonhart a little more since I get a little extra spice that I can't describe. Im also a big fan of Hamilton 86 as a base Demerara, as well as El Dorado 5 and 8.

Tasted this one side by side with a key competitor and while this one lost on the nose (wasn't quite a rich), this one really wins on flavor. Of course a big alcohol burn hits you front and center, as expected. This gives way to a little bit of acidity, which then proceeds to a little sweetness and bitterness. Finally, the aftertaste takes over where I'm detecting some healthy funk. This one is sippable even at 151 proof. An excellent rum.

Just bought this bottle and looking forward to mixing it in my favorite cocktails calling for a 151!

Wew, this was good. Does a great job in any drink, whether mixed in or as a float.

Tasting notes: overpowering note of ethanol on the nose, with hints of caramel. Classic demerara flavors (brown sugar, caramel, char) on the back, though it has to fight through the ethanol every step of the way.

Brown colour, strong taste, liquorice and coffee in the background
