I find this as an in-between of Rum Fire and Smith and Cross with extra coloring. Rum Fire being all funk, and SC being half funk and half navy overproof rum. I will always have SC in my cabinet and maybe Rum Fire, but this Hamilton I may never buy again. I don't see it's purpose. I also have the Hamilton Jamaican Gold and find it indistinguishable from the other. For me, id rather have Smith and Cross or Doctor Bird. If I want extra super-mega funk, here comes a half shot of Rum Fire.

Nose is wet grass, very different. Palate is funk and heat. Finish is long lasting. Great sipper for the price. Will be a recurring member of my rum crew.

My first experience with Worthy Park. I was expecting a less-proofy version of S+C but could not have been more wrong. This is all dark dried fruits and muddy, dirty earth. Like the floor of the jungle. In a good way.

I picked this one up randomly last week and knew from the first sniff that I wasn't a big fan. The first sniff can best be described as dark and heavy. A straight sip confirmed what my nose suspected and rewarded me with a burn. The flavor isn't complex or interesting, just strong.
Mixed in a rum & Coke it's drinkable but not that good. I wouldn't buy this one again. There's probably something you could mix it with, I just don't know what. I'm not going to finish this one.

If you like Jamaican Hogo look no further than this for your needs. It's economical and wholly delicious.

This is a really excellent rum for the price point (around $30 here in the Midwest US). There’s a ton of unapologetic personality in this bottle, exactly the Jamaican kind you’d expect.

Bought this one after seeing reviews here. Tried it on the rocks first. Very spicy and strong as previously described. Could only muster two glasses, it was tough for me to drink straight. Tried it in a dark and stormy, perfect, I recommend this way. I liken it to a spicier and stronger Goslings

Had it in a tiki drink called "Doctor Funk", which may be the most expressive Hogo-Heaven beverage I've ever consumed.
If I'm going to have a dark rum, I want it to be bursting with flavor. Hamilton delivers, and so we have the perfect rum for a Dark n' Stormy for us drinkers that relish the funk. It represents a unique category of rum, with only itself as a member - Jamaican Pot-Still Dark - genius. Rich, thick, and dark with all the best of the Jamaican style. A fine addition to many a tiki drink. $20 in WI (Discount Liquor)

Very dark pour. Aroma is funky, but not off putting. Taste is slightly sweet, but runs more on the earthy/ woody side. Finishes smooth.

If you want to know what Jamaican Funk tastes like, this is it. Like nothing else I have had. From the strong and unique nose to the first sip, this is unique. I am not sure I love it, but I can certainly appreciate the individuality.
Rotten bananas? I can see where people get that taste!
Worth trying and I feel this is a rum which will grow on me, perhaps!
