Old Monk XXX 7-Year

This is the most popular rum in India and also the first choice for all the budget conscious buyers. However, this is only good with coke. Try sipping it and it tastes like sweet syrup mixed with alcohol.

Has quite a burn down the pipe. Reeks of alcohol on the nose with hint of sweet dates.

Sladké kouřové aroma. V chuti dřevo, není příliš sladký.

This taste like vancomycin & should offer sure-fire remedy for Delhi-belly, Malaria, Dengue & the rest. Without coke/pepsi whatever this is a hard sell.

No doubt why it is extremely appreciated rum in India.

Smell of vanilla and tastes spicy. I realy enjoyed it. Great for sipping.

Ok this rum has a screw on cap and comes in around $20, that being the case and all things considered dollar spent it is a decent purchase. Has a great nose, lots of butterscotch, caramel and vanilla. Has notes of fruit and finishes decent. A little burn on the end but nothing noted in the gut. I like it, I am fairly picky when it comes to rum but for what it is and the scale it sits upon I would recommend it. Good neat but better with a splash of coke. Taste away!!

Strong vanilla notes with a side of burnt plastic. Not smooth by any means. I gave it a 4 which is "flawed with a glimmer of hope". The glimmer of hope comes from mixing with Coca Cola, which basically tastes like an alcoholic vanilla coke.

I do not recommend Old Monk and can't feasible understand why anyone would rate over a 6. Any person who drinks any other rum in it's price class ($21) would never select Old Monk.

I LOVE this rum. Its been my nightly choice as of late. I'm also a fan of Pyrat XO, so I like my odd sweet rums, I guess. SO good with coke. I can't get enough of this realistically priced rum. This is my fav.

This rum has an incredible sweet aroma (if you like that), a lot of vanilla or brown sugar scent. When drinking it neet it is pretty good without any heavy alcohol burn. Did a flight of this with El Dorado 12 and Kraken. Old Monk came second behind the El Dorado. So much sampling to do.
