8:On the nose the light and fruity notes share the stage with a subtly pastry profile. The fruit salad in syrup pairs with tender, fresh almond milk. The coconut is here, as the vanilla comes in.
Aeration brings us a mineral and coppery, roasted notes, varnish with notes of exotic fruit pastes, orange peel, peaches with some acidity of passion fruit or tangy berries. The wood is toasted with nuts, caramel and sweet spices.
7,8:On the palate, this rum is as on the nose, balanced, with a very gourmet american oak, vanilla and toasted coconut. Then come some sweet spices, bourbon touch with a light smoke, caramel and some roastedness. This comes out with a minimal bitterness and dryness.
7,5:The finish is medium length, dry with toasted wood, tangy exotic fruits, a bit metallic.
A nice Admiral Rodney 🙂👍.
