This rum really throws me off base. Full 22 aging, instead of second maturation it was done first 9 years in French Armanac casks then a full 13 years in French white oak casks. Not your typical charred oak ex bourbon casks. So the color is very golden not brown as expected. Three casks only world wide. Distilled 100% Guyana Enmore wooden coffee still but has none of the familiar El Dorado or Pusser's flavors. Diluted to 40% it’s very easy in the nose and even easier to drink. This is a solid great rum just not what I expected. No additives just pure unadulterated rum.
On to tasting no alcohol scent in the nose sligh vanilla butterscotch scents. Tasting brings the same with an occasional slight raisin & liquorish taste.
After breaking 500 rating I seldom try new and different rums but this one caught my attention. World wide only 3 casks will ever be released so likely one and done unless I fall in love at $195 bottle. Speaking of bottles it’s a work of art. My family thought I bought a high end tequila. Hats off to them taking this gamble. I have no regrets even though I prefer more full bodied darker aged rums. I can only imagine this at 52-62 proof.
